Backyard Broadheads started with a paperclip and a dream, becoming one of the fastest-growing names in crossbow accessories.
Like most good businesses, this all started with a weird obsession and a stubborn streak.
My fascination with metalworking started back in elementary school. I’d spend way too much time straightening out paper clips, trying to get them perfectly straight—then challenge myself to bend them exactly back into shape.

Luckily, in high school, I had plenty of metal shop classes to dive into, learning about different metals and how to work with them.
That passion led me to get a degree and become a shop teacher for several years. But to be honest, I was never all that excited to tell people what I did for a living.
. . . something I owe in large part to my amazing wife.
Now, I design and manufacture custom multifunction crossbow hangers and bipods, and I love talking about my work.
I had a Ravin R29 crossbow and needed a bipod with a couple of hanging points, so I built one myself.
Turns out, I accidentally created something much more. My design worked as a bipod, kickstand, lap rest, rail rest, ground rest, and more.
From there, I expanded into my Heart Drop series of hangers, a Ravin String Release Tool, and the Tactacap Hatch camera cover for Tactacam hunting cameras.
The journey has been incredible, and I can't wait to see where it goes from here!
